While this was nowhere near his first appearance in the Big Apple, D.R.A.M. gave an electricfying performance during his packed house NYC tour stop! On a seemingly dreary Friday night, the Virginia bred rapper-meets-crooner filled Santos Party House with endless vibes and soulful vocals.
In a mist filled room, complete with a dazzling disco ball, Jack Daniels Jack’N for Beats contest winner Jadon kicked off the epic night with an energetic performance, which included a rocking guitarist and an exclusive listen to new music produced by DJ Khaled. Awful Records mega babe Abra took to the stage next to deliver an enchanting set embellished with a few of our favorite tracks, including “Roses” and “U Know,” before introducing us to a never before heard track entitled “No Chill.”
Gospel-like melodies and summer-infused vibes were endless as D.R.A.M. took to the stage for his headlining performance. Grill shining, dreads swinging, crooning over melodramatic beats, the singer-rapper had the crowd swooning. After giving room to the stage for a quick performance from Queens-native Remy Banks, the room rang as records like the SZA-assisted “Caretaker” and “Mind Gone” were obvious crowd favorites. A dancing D.R.A.M. cha-cha’d his way into the audience, and the night’s reoccurring message was charmingly warm: “If you love yo’ mama say Yeeeeeeeah Doe!” The warm grit of D.R.A.M.’s voice coupled with his charismatic jubilance, and funky moves makes for a surprisingly refreshing show. The follow-up is highly anticipated!
