Recap: D.R.A.M. & Friends Deliver The ‘GAHDAMN!’ For Their NYC Tour Stop
While this was nowhere near his first appearance in the Big Apple, D.R.A.M. gave an electricfying performance during his packed house NYC tour stop! On a seemingly dreary Friday night, the Virginia bred rapper-meets-crooner filled Santos Party House with endless vibes and soulful vocals.
In a mist filled room, complete with a dazzling disco ball, Jack Daniels Jack’N for Beats contest winner Jadon kicked off the epic night with an energetic performance, which included a rocking guitarist and an exclusive listen to new music produced by DJ Khaled. Awful Records mega babe Abra took to the stage next to deliver an enchanting set embellished with a few of our favorite tracks, including “Roses” and “U Know,” before introducing us to a never before heard track entitled “No Chill.”
Gospel-like melodies and summer-infused vibes were endless as D.R.A.M. took to the stage for his headlining performance. Grill shining, dreads swinging, crooning over melodramatic beats, the singer-rapper had the crowd swooning. After giving room to the stage for a quick performance from Queens-native Remy Banks, the room rang as records like the SZA-assisted “Caretaker” and “Mind Gone” were obvious crowd favorites. A dancing D.R.A.M. cha-cha’d his way into the audience, and the night’s reoccurring message was charmingly warm: “If you love yo’ mama say Yeeeeeeeah Doe!” The warm grit of D.R.A.M.’s voice coupled with his charismatic jubilance, and funky moves makes for a surprisingly refreshing show. The follow-up is highly anticipated!

Check Out Hand-Written Wishes From Our Guests At The Debut ‘Proclamation’ Brooklyn Party
Tucked into a corner of Malcolm X Boulevard and MacDonough Street in Bed-Stuy lies Casablanca Cocktail Lounge, the historical watering hole where we held our debut Proclamation event series. From 9pm to 4pm the dance floor was packed with fellowship and jams, as DJ Silence, DJ Lindsey, and DJ Just Dizle kept us anticipating the next throwback and current R&B gems to blast through the speakers — sprinkled with early 2000 rap drops here and there. Perhaps the most magical and energizing moment took place when Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” had the crowd jumping up and down as they proclaimed their tenacity despite America’s constant turmoil.
Check out some of our favorite desires and manifestations from our guests right before they abandoned their worries on the dance floor below.
Win A Pair Of Tickets To See Jordan Bratton & More This Week In New York
New York crooner Jordan Bratton has been on the come up for quite some time, and has recently caught our ears over here at Saint Heron after taking a listen to his debut EP YOUTH. Fascinating us with his standout, Chance The Rapper-assisted single “Prisoner” and groove infectious jam “Cold Killer,” the RCA-signed singer-songwriter fills a needed void in the R&B realm with soulful, harmonizing bliss.
After opening up for the likes of songstress Jazmine Sullivan, Jordan will be hitting the road with SoMo for ‘The Fallin’ Up Tour’. Before that takes place this fall, Jordan Bratton is set to headline tomorrow, July 8th in The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City. Alongside Gabi Wilson and Adrian Daniel as supporting acts, Brittany Sky and DJ Megamission will be behind the boards with your host Ashley Outrageous! With the show being only one day away, the Saint Heron team is letting loose of a pair of free tickets! For your chance to win, simply follow us and retweet this posting via Twitter, and we’ll randomly pick a winner. Good luck!
Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased here. Check out a couple of of our favorite Jordan Bratton tracks below!
Joey Bada$$, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, and More Celebrate The Life Of Capital STEEZ At First Annual #STEEZDay
After months of planning, yesterday July 7th Joey Bada$$ and the entire Pro Era crew brought to life the first annual #STEEZDay Festival in honor of the late Pro Era member Capital STEEZ on what would have been his 22nd birthday. Although the night opened up with a downpour rain shower, not one person left without soaking in the immense positive vibes that enveloped Central Park. With an impeccable roster of performances and surprise guests, thousands of devoted fans filled the Rumsey Playfield to show Pro Era an extent of love.
Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg was the honorable host of the evening as the night warmed up with opening acts Dyme-A-Duzin, Smoke DZA, Saint Heron favorite Phony Ppl, and more. While the event continued, backstage and the general admission area filled with special guests including Mick Jenkins, songstress Justine Skye, Bodega Bamz, and more. Alongside Pro Era, The Underachievers and Flabush Zombies headlined the event while running through booming fan favorites and even debuting a few new jams. It the midst of throbbing mosh pits and crowd rages, Joey Bada$$’ DJ and longstanding producer Statik Selektah took the stage to prepare for the Pro Era takeover. Decked out in attire fully dedicated to the life of Steelo, Joey and the Pro Era crew, including Kirk Knight, CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, A La $ole, Dessy Hinds, and more, hit the stage for fan favorite singles including “Paper Trail$,” and “Big Dusty,” before the entire roster bombarded the stage with uproar and positive energy for a mashup of Jay-Z’s “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)” alongside Joey’s own “Hardknock.” Even more special appearances flooded the night, including a surprise performance from TDE’s Ab-Soul and A$AP Mob’s A$AP Ferg. Shouting out love to both STEEZ and A$AP Yams, a moment of silence began for a video tribute to STEEZ projected across the energy filled park before the youthful squad broke out into Joey’s hit single “Survival Tactics.” Featuring STEEZ, the track is lifted from Joey’s breakthrough and acclaimed 1999 project. The night ended with nothing less than pure hip-hop bliss.
Catch photos below provided by photographer and creative Elijah Dominique! May Capital STEEZ continue to rest in paradise.
